Bio

Kevin Ortiz Martinez is a dedicated musician and guitarist originally from Oaxaca, Mexico. His musical journey began at age 13, and he later pursued a Bachelor of Music at Universidad Veracruzana in Veracruz, Mexico, under the mentorship of Professor Dr. Gustavo Castro.

Kevin has honed his craft by participating in numerous international master classes with esteemed artists including Eliot Fisk (USA), Horacio Franco (Mexico), Marcin Dylla (Poland), René Izquierdo (Cuba/USA), Carlos Bonell (UK), Mårten Falk (Sweden), among others. 


Between the years of 2010 and 2013, he was actively involved in various artistic and musical endeavors throughout Mexico. He also engaged in collaborations with the Mexican government through FONCA (Fondo Nacional para la Cultura y las Artes) and with the European Union delegation in Mexico.


His pursuit of music education continued at the Stockholm Music Pedagogical Institute (SMI), where he expanded his instructional methodologies.


Kevin has enjoyed a dynamic touring career, with performances in Sweden, Finland, Spain, the UK, and Mexico. Since 2013, he has resided in Stockholm, Sweden, where he thrives as a freelance musician, both as a soloist and a chamber performer, and dedicates himself to the art of teaching as a music pedagogue.
